Subject: New to Tris, need help with bike purchase Hey guys, I'm new to triathlons and "competitive" cycling. I'm looking at getting a decent road bike for around 1k to use for a while. I have a few different ideas I'm looking at, and I'd enjoy some opinions. First, http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/motobecane/sprint_x.htm. It's a 2011 Motobecane Sprint. It's an aluminum frame with carbon seatstays and a carbon fork. It's all ultegra 6600 and comes with vuelta xrp pros for 999. Second, http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/motobecane/immortalpro_specialsale.htm. This is a 2010 Motobecane Immortal Pro. It's a carbon body with an ultegra rear derailleur and the rest of the components are 105, but comes with Shimano WH-R500 wheels for 999. Third, my local bike shop has a 2010 specialized allez elite for 999 (http://citybikes.com/product/10-specialized-allez-elite-57586-1.htm ). the only issue is this is a 58cm, the others are 60cm and 59cm respectively, and I'm 6'2" and I think the 58cm is slightly small. However, the Allez has all 105 components and Mavic wheels. Thoughts? Thanks! |
