Run
Comments: This is always a fun race so I enjoyed it. I walked about 3 times for less than a minute each - first time on the hill after the turnaround in Ft Tryon park, second later in the same hill, and then for a minute on that last hill in the 180's before the downhill to the finish. Tried to remember all those track intervals and to run relaxed in the kick to the finish / last quarter to half mile or so. What would you do differently?: Warm up better, have a better base! Still, I was closer to my PR than I would have thought and this was second best out of a lifetime 4 5ks, so I was happy. Post race
Warm down: Walk through chute and back to car in the rain. Changed into a dry shirt at the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Warm up, extra weight, overall lack of base Event comments: NYRR isn't known for their frills, just spot-on organization and a good (if really really large) racing experience. This race is always especially fun due to the bands and neighborhood flavor - bagpipes to mariachi! Last updated: 2011-01-23 12:00 AM

Cereal with strawberries, coffee, glass of water upon wakeup
Jogged about 5 blocks to porta-johns, then lined up, did some leg kicks, that was about it. Could have used more but it was pretty rainy and miserable and I knew I wasn't going to PR anyway.
