I have a wedding this weekend that I will be flying to and I'm wondering how do I take my suit? Can I take it as a carry-on and hang it on the plane somewhere or what? Putting it in my backpack doesn't seem like such a good idea. Any business type people out there? Thanks.

I've hung dresses before in the front of the plane that I didn't feel comfortable checking. The stewardess' have a coat-type closet up there.

I assume you don't have one of those hanging suitcases?

I would use a garmet bag- that way you can eaily use it as a carry on or check it. Or you could always wear it- although that woudn't be comfortable.  I see most business men at the airpot in their suits.

Cool. I thought I saw a place you could hang things but I never needed it so I never paid attention. I don't have a garment bag or suit hanging bag thingy so I can't go that route and I can't wear it on the plane since I only have a limited amount of minutes that I allow myself to wear a suit and I need to save them for the wedding. Thanks for the tips.

If you don't have a bag for the suit that won't ruin the suit (and that would be bad before the wedding) the way to do it is: wear the suit pants along with some casual shirt (like a nice tshirt or a polo shirt). Wear the suit coat through the airport, then hang it up in the stewardess' coat closet at the door of the plane (note: be nice to stewardesses to make certain that you get access to the coat closet). Remember to collect the coat when you leave the plane. No muss, no fuss, no wrinkles in the back of the suit coat, and you don't actually have to wear the entire suit for a long period of time. Plus, if your neighbor on the plane asks what you do for a living, you can make up some bizarre corporate story, like you're a layed-off arbitrage trader for a Saudi Arabian tennis star with offices in Trump Tower and a Sunday tee-time with Warren Buffet, but what you really want to do is direct.

If you don't have a folding suit bag, wear it on the plane. The flight attended might let you hang it in the front closet if you ask very politely, but generally that is reserved for 1) crew 2) first class passengers.

I would also call ahead to the hotel that you are staying with and ask about their hour drycleaning services. If it does get a little wrinkly on the way out there, you should get it pressed when you get there.
