Subject: GU Brew - Favorite Flavor?

I need to find a new maltodextrin option for the bike.  My taste buds and body can't handle Perpetuem anymore - they never really could, and I did myself a disservice in my last 70.3 by forcing it - and I can't do the Perpetuem solids either.  Straight maltodextrin hasn't worked, and straight whey mix has failed as well.  I've got a funky thing about texture, and the chalky kills me - makes me want to puke, and that's not a good thing to do in longer-distance races, as you know.

I've done well with Ironman Restore, but I want to try Gu Brew to lower my sugar intake.  Any tips on Gu Brew flavors to try?  I can't find them on Amazon in smaller than the 2 lb. barrels, so I want to start with a flavor that most people seem to like.

So toss out your favorite/most stomachable flavor - it will be a huge help for me.

Thanks.

I used the Orange flavor today.  It isn't very sweet at all but the flavor isn't bad.  I'll be buying it again.

I tried the raspberry.  It was ok.  I like it better than the lemon lime.

Blueberry pomegranite has double the sodium so I go with that one, but all of them taste pretty good to me.  Do any of the bike shops in your area carry it?  Mine all have sample size packets and the Gu website does too.

I use the Raspberry.  I thought the flavor was great but it's not that strong of a flavor.

Good call - I'll check that out today and see if I can do a little taste test.

It looks like there are no clear negatives on any of the flavors here (unlike Perpetuem - everyone seems to steer away from 1 flavor), so I'll have to find a personal preference first.  Thanks for all the replies!

I like the raspberry and orange; and mixing the two is not that bad either.

Too many options - not only the stock flavors, but MIXING them now?!  I'm gonna be testing for the next 6 weeks!

x2.  I particularly like that it has a bit more tartness to the flavor than the other GU Brew flavors.

Lemon lime, or raspberry are my favorites.  Sometimes I get a hint of chalkiness with orange and mango.  Mixing lemon lime and orange seems to eliminate it though.
