I think it would be a good substitute for Silverman (if you're into that kind of pain  ). In fact, some of the Pumpkinman course is on the same roads that Silverman is (Lakeshore and Northshore). I can't imagine taking that 8% climb into Boulder City after 111 miles, though - ouch! |

Extreme Veteran 648 Scottsdale | Subject: RE: Pumpkinman in NV has a full IM! The bike course follows the same path as the Las Vegas Triathlon. Those up and down hills going around the lake are very deceiving. We drove the course the day prior, and were still surprised by the challenge of the road. I am almost always up for a trip to Vegas, but one month before IM AZ, I will have to pass...at least this year. If you head up there, best of luck Sally! When we swam in Lake Mead in late Sept last year, the temp was still right at 78 (it felt warmer), so the swim should be comfortable. |

I shudder to think that there is a course out there that might hold you below a 20 mph average on the bike. |
