Champion 6285 Beautiful Sonoma County | Subject: Attention all non-Football-loving BTers... American Football, that is. Well, it's official... summer is nearly over: THERE IS FOOTBALL ON MY TV! Gaaaaaa! OK, just needed to get that out of my system. I don't judge the football-watching folks, but... I just don't like it. Give me a good baseball game anyday and I'm happy. I'll even watch tennis or hockey. But I just can't get behind football. Thanks for letting me rant. You will now be returned to your regularly scheduled broadcast. |

I will watch the U of M because they are local but other than that football can just go away and I would not miss it one bit. I know that there are people who live and breath it and I am supportive but not for me. B-ball season cannot start soon enough tho. |

Pro 4612 MA | Subject: RE: Attention all non-Football-loving BTers... I'm not a big fan of watching TV sports. I don't watch football at all. Neither do basketball. I like baseball, but not because of the Red Sox winning (though I follow them quite a bit). Baseball wasn't a big thing where I grew up. Just learn to like the sports from playing a Nintendo Game. Love watching soccer. Sometime I flipped to the Spanish-speaking channel and water a bit of the games, although I don't understand a word. Used to stay up late to watch the World Cup. Looking forward to next summer -- hope there are more coverage here in teh U.S. |

The ONLY games I've ever watched, other than Superbowl games because I was at a party, were UofM games when I was a student there a million years ago. On a side note, on my last lap 'round the lake on Sat, I saw this adorable elderly gentleman dressed up head to toe in Wolverine garb, so I just had to stop and chat with him. |

Master 1889 Ann Arbor, MI | Subject: RE: Attention all non-Football-loving BTers... I like football Saturday, *NOW*. A couple years ago when the family first moved home I hated it. It was different when I was single but my kids had things to do on Saturdays and I was exactly 5 miles from the Big House and it was between us and downtown. Now that we moved a little further out and decided to avoid downtown on Football Saturdays we are much happier about it. The unfortunate thing is I always get a craving for Zingerman's on football Saturdays, it is uncanny. (If you went to U of M and you don't know what Zingermans is then I am going to wonder if you were stoned your entire college experience ) |

I was a very poor undergrad at the time, an rarely left the campus to eat, sadly. But looking at their website now it looks de-lish! I was only in school there for two years, 1988-1990, before I transferring to be closer to my family. I never bought tickets to games, so I had to either go with friends, or watch on tv. I loved Football Saturdays because the campus would be nearly silent. I did get to go to the Rosebowl in 1990, the last year Bo coaches. Even though they lost, it was a special birthday treat to get to go to California. |

I cannot believe you have never eaten there. You missed part of the Ann Arbor experience. Sadly I think this means that U of M will have to recsind your diploma. |

I actually didn't grad from there, or anywhere else, but that's a whole different story... I can vouch for my time there, though. I can honestly say I met Shakey Jake. |

We were walking down the street, my husband and I, a few years ago and I looked up and said "Hi Jake". Jake smiled and said hello and my poor husband was nice and waited a whole 10 feet before asking me who that was and how I knew him. I'm like "well honey EVERYONE in Ann Arbor knows Shaky Jake".. he finally got straightened out by someone in our group. I still wonder if he thought Jake was an ex boyfreind or something. You know the man never EVER ages. Oh my heck. I just googled an image of Shake Jake. There are tons out there. I cannot believe the web! |

St. Louis, MO | Subject: RE: Attention all non-Football-loving BTers... Football is good for social occasions when it's cold. Otherwise I'd never see my friends. I get yelled at for talking during the games tho. Apparently I am supposed to WATCH it? I'm sad the NHL figured that stuff out. I didn't miss Hockey for one moment last year and I would be totally content for it to go away. |
