Total Time = 1h 31m 4s
Overall Rank = 82/135
Age Group = 30-39
Age Group Rank = 0/
Pre-race routine:

I TRIED TO SLEEP AS MUCH AS I CAN BUT I COULDN'T. TOO MANY THING IN MY MIND
Event warmup:

JUST NORMAL STRECHES OUTSIDE THE POOL RIGHT BEFORE MY HEAT STARTED
Swim
  • 15h 30m
  • 825 meters
  • 1h 52m 44s / 100 meters
Comments:

THE ALARM WENT OFF AND I WAS JUST PUTTING MY GOGGLES SO I HAD A BAD START. I GOT WATER INSIDE MY LEFT EYE SO I HAD TO STOP. I DID IT 3 TIMES 'CAUSE I COULDN'T GET IT RIGHT. MY STOP WATCH DIDN'T START AND I LOST TRACK OF THE LAP COUNTING. I DECIDED TO RELAX AND ENJOY THE REST OF THE SWIMMING. I DID NOT PUSH IT HARD. I SWIM NORMAL AND I STILL HAD A GOOD TIME IN SPITE OF ALL THE INCIDENTS.
What would you do differently?:

BE ON THE WATER FREZZING MY BUTT FOR A WHILE AND BE TOTALLY PREPARED FOR WHEN THE ALARM GOES OFF
Transition 1
  • 05m
Comments:

I THINK I COULD HAVE DONE IT FASTER BUT I FORGOT MY RACE BELT AND HAD TO PIN MY NUMBER. I WASTED TIME THERE AND WITH MY SHOES. I WILL GET SOME OF THOSE FAST LACES. OTHER THAN THAT IT WENT KIND OF SMOOTH.
What would you do differently?:

DOUBLE CHECK EERYTHING BEFORE I LEAVE HOME SO I DON'T FORGET ANYTHING
Bike
  • 47h 00m
  • 20 kms
  • 0.43 km/hr
Comments:

MY FIRST RACE WITH MY NEW BIKE. I LOVED IT! I JUST WISH THE WIND WAS NOT BLOWINF THAT MUCH TO REALLY TESTED MY NEW BABY.I HATED THE FACT THAT I DID NOT SEE THE ARROW POINTING OUT THE DIRECTION TO FOLLOW. I WENT THE WONG WAY AND NOBODY TOLD ME UNTIL AFTER 2 MINUTES. I STARTED BAD AGAIN, JUST LIKE IN THE SWIMM. TO TOP IT OFF THE WIND WAS BLOWING KIND OF HARD AND THREW A CONE IN FRONT OF ME AND I ALMOST CRASHED BUT MANAGED TO GET UP BEFORE TOUCHING THE GROUND
What would you do differently?:

PAY MORE ATTENTION TO THE GROUND TO START AND TRAIN OUTSIDE WHEN IS WINDY INSTEAD OF TRAINING AT HOME.
Transition 2
  • 03m
Comments:

FINALLY EVERYTHING WENT OK IN THIS TRANSITION
What would you do differently?:

NOTHING
Run
  • 00m
  • 0 kms
  •  min/km
Comments:

RUNNING IS STILL MY STRONGEST PART OF THE TRI. I DID VERY GOOD. I THOUGHT I WOULD WALK BUT I DID NOT AND I PASSED A LOT OF PEOPLE WHICH HELPED ME TO FINISH STRONG AND HAPPY
What would you do differently?:

RUN AFTER I BIKE SO MY LEGS GET USED TO THE FEELING.
Post race
Warm down:

WALK. HUG AND KISS MY FAMILY AND LOVELY HUSBAND

What limited your ability to perform faster:

MY OWN MIND. THE START. I HAD A BAD ONE.

Event comments:

GREAT RACE OVERALL. PERSONALLY I THINK I COULD HAVE DONE MUCH BETTER AGAIN THIS IS MY FIRST TRI BACK AFTER THE BABY.I WENT IN THE RACE EXHAUSTED.I GOT A LOT OF INSPIRATION FROM THE OTHER ATHLETES. JUST LOOKING AT THEM MADE FEEL LIKE IF THEY CAN DO IT I DO NOT SEE WHY CAN'T I.I AM TALKING ABOUT BIGGER, OLDER, YOUNGER AND SOME INJURED ONES. GOOD JOB CLAUDIA!
