I like the looks of the speed works, I normally don't mind paying a little more if the product is USA made, keeps neighbors working and usually provides better customer contact/product support. Will be ordering one.

I got one, it's well made and is dead solid without sliding around. Only issue so far is a bit of dingling from the zippers. :P

I am debating keeping the plastic inner piece or not.

Does it fit a tube, tire irons, CO2, and mini-tool?

Yes.

Like ST, proof is in the pictures! Wink

Take a lok at the Bontrager version of the Bento box. It has a more rigid design than Bento and 2 small holes at the front which you can run a zip tie through to attach it/stabilize it to the head tube. I bought one a few years back and love it.

My blackberry bold and wallet go in there for now - sitting on their side, and there's still tons of room for a few gels etc. I have a bag/wing on the back for tools. But for Oly or less I will move all the tools into the bag and remove the rear wing. I have no doubt it would hold a tube, 2 irons, tool, some o2 and inflator. A 2nd tube, maybe - there's a plastic brace in there you could remove if the bag is full. I keep my 2nd backup tube under the seat.

Fuel Belt has had an aero box for over a year.

I've been using this for two season and have been quite happy with it.

We were actually looking at that option as well because it's secure and makes sense. But the problem is, how do you (easily) remove the pack from your bike (for example, when you want to clean the bike or the pack)? Do you guys want a pack that is semi-permanently attached to your bike? Because making a non-velcro version of the Speedpack is definitely something that we can do.
