Back of the pack breathing hard
Subject: 2005 Wildwood NJ Tri/Du
Hello,

My 3rd tri coming up this Saturday the 27th. This one has two first's for me.

1. Ocean swim - Others were lake and bay.
2. Beach run during low tide packed sand. Only street ran the others.

Has anyone here done this one?
Is anyone here going to this one?

PS- Gotta a hotel couch I can crash on?
Eitherwise I gotta drive 100 miles in the early morn.
Thought I'd ask. Dont' ask, don't get. ;-)

I signed up to do this last year hoping and assuming that the ocean was going to be your usual Jersey shore ocean in late August - GLASS! I showed up that morning set up my area and went and looked at the ocean - WASHING MACHINE! I do relatively decent in the swim (top 20%) but I knew this would not be enjoyable AT ALL and that's the main reason I do these Tri's - I truly do enjoy the pain! I do not enjoy swallowing water every time I turn my head to take a breath! So with all the pride I could muster i packed up my stuff and bagged this one.

I'm not saying the water's going to be the same but don't be surprised.

The other thing I heard from people who did the race said the bike is very technical with alot of turns - but it looks like they really tried to take some of them out this year.

I was going to do it this year but I've got another rcae next weekend.
