With the advice of Marina, I emailed a tri-specific gear dealer to ask how the sizing runs. My goal weight is going to be right about 140, and he said that his experience has been that people within 5 pounds of the next size up are really more comfortable in the bigger size -- in other words, they run small. So a Med. right now would not make a lot of sense for me -- it would be too tight this season, and who knows next season. Whereas a large would be a little snug this season, but hopefully just right for next season. Anyway, I am still going to meet up with Cathi, the triathlete who offered me one of her many old wetsuits. I'll end up getting something from her that will see me through the short term. This sale just got me all excited about owning my very own, brand new wetsuit! Did you get one, DK? Hope everyone got what they wanted. Does REI do this every year? Last year, I got a couple of tech tee's for $15 ($20 regular price). I think they have a winter clearance as well, but I am not sure. I think I will hold off my wetsuit purchase until spring of next year. I am in the same predicament as Miko.  Don't want to get a large now cus' I might be needing a medium later. Hey gals, what do you think of the tri tops and tri shorts? I see that REI has a couple of those made by TYR and Danskin. Does the tri top give you any support in the bust area? I wear it over a speedo 2-piece swim suit - sports bra-like top and boyshorts bottom. At T1, I would just pull on my bike shorts over the swim shorts. Running in bike shorts doesn't bother me. |

I called San Fran store and they are shipping it to me for only $9.00. It may not be the best wetsuit in the world, but it's one that I can afford! I guess that means I HAVE to commit to do more of these next year! Melanie |
