Subject: 5.30.11 Memorial Day Monday!

Wow I'm late starting this thread today!  Hope everyone is out enjoying their day and remembering those that have loved, fought and died for the grand ol' US of A!

7am:  1:30/27.25 on the trainer
8:30am:  46 minute run

Later getting an intense tutorial on how to swap out tires on my cyclocross from the knobbies to road tires, change a flat, and get my trainer wheel back on again as well!  Looking forward to getting my hands dirty so I'm not a damsel in distress should I get a flat during my HIM (that's in less than two weeks...aaaaaaaaaah!!!)

Outdoor Pools opened today!  First swim workout outdoors at the fitness center, water was a little cold getting in, felt just right about 20 seconds later.  A mos refreshing 3400 yds.  Those aqua-aerobics ladies can have their 82+ degree indoor pool for the rest of the summer, whoohooo Smile

Club Memorial Day ride & picnic, which for me meant a 40 mile ride with the club and a 2 mile run around the park while they all relaxed and ate.  (I did join in the eating after I was done, of course!)

10K in the heat and humidity.   And with a very large crowd.   PR was out of the question. My time, and myself suffered thusly.

Must be summer!  First ocean swim of the year...half mile in what the lifeguard said was 50F water (I think it was more like 55, honestly)...followed by a 4 mile run.

(This is what passes for a "rest day" in tcovert-world, after 12 mile run Saturday and 63 mile ride Sunday.)

3 miles in the heat, wind, and hills.  Ow.

Luckily I just opened my pool and took a plunge afterwards.  Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhh.

Up early & a 5 mile run in w/ a buddy.  Bad thing is we like to talk too much & end up doing more talking than running.

It was yard work in the morning through mid afternoon.

For supper, my parents came over & the in-laws are up & we had supper.  Can't beat grilled pork chops.
