Subject: Putting beand new tires on a bike
Just purchased 2 new tires for the bike and for whatever reason I am having a horrible time trying to get them on without pinching the tubes (have already gone through 2 tubes)....any suggestions?  I am at just about at wit's end and I think there are gators at the end of wit.

put them on without tubes for the night, next day remove, put in the dryer for 5 min and install with tubes.

Total newbie here and probably not relevant advice (and hopefully not idiotic), but are you starting to do your tire bead insert at the valve?  I was having an issue the other night not being able to avoid a pinch until I found a website that said to start at the valve - fixed the issue pronto.

I've heard of dusting the tube real lightly with baby powder.

a little air in the tubes may help, and a couple levers.

Put the tire in the dryer for two/three minutes
Put one side of the tire on
Blow the tube up a bit so it holds its shape and then put it into the rim under the tire
from the valve side start working in the second side with NO tools
Keep working the tire in with no tools until you are as far around as you can
when you must use a tire lever, be really careful and only do a couple inches at a time, do not try to do great big chunks

Use a patched tube to put it on and take it off a few times, that'll loosen it up enough to do it without tools pretty quickly.

or put it on without a tube works same exact way and stretches the tire without much worry.

Yeah but I've never had much luck with the new tire holding shape the first couple times unless I have a partially blown up tube in there when putting it on.

This is one of those "16 ways to do it, all will work to some extent" things

Also - since you're pinching tubes - get a PATCH KIT. It takes all of 2 minutes to repatch a tube, and it's the easiest thing in the world. You'll be able to rescue the tubes you've damaged, for pennies.
