Uphill riders have the car lane and downhill riders are stuck between the rumble strips and the guard rail. He said the no pass starts where the guard rail does and I don't know if he meant from the very top where there is a cement barrier along the edge (thinking this is the way of it) or where the metal guard rail starts further down. I think the only time it will be a real issue is when the pros and top AG catch the BOPers other than that I think the speeds will be close enough that it'll only mean a few seconds of lost time for a super fast descender. Interesting though. |

It's the last downhill coming back from the out and back hilly section. Its the two mile hill on the way down. The people going downhill have to ride on the shoulder next to the guard rail. The people going up that hill will be in the one lane portion. It's going to be scary in my opinion because of how little room there is. |

It's really just a fun suck for me as I love downhill sections where I can hit 50mph+But it will be safer for all involved |

New user 339 Salisbury | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread What an incredible day, First let me say how much I love the folks of Coeur D Alene, Then it's kinda funny when I trained for this race I only had B2B to compare an Iron distance, so training went well , and I am thinking ...I can break 12, then after Stan's tour, I thought 13 was more realistic, then during the first bike loop I said just finish...I had to run a negative split in The Marathon to get it under 14 ...13:55, and damn proud to have it. What a wonderful day. |

Swim was awful with the major chop, bike went well albeit VERY slowly (during that last hill on the second lap, I thought I may have been rolling backwards!), and the run was great (what was up with the slanted road?? My left ankle is not happy!). Even though I had no "official" goal time, my goal was under 15:30, which I thought was possible until the second lap of the bike. My marathon ended up being a lot faster than I had planned, so that made up for the much slower bike and I finished in 15:23, which I'm very pleased with. Congrats to everyone! |
