Subject: 8.29.11 Happy Monday!

Good morning BTers!

4:15am:  30 minute run
5:45am:  Insanity Pure Cardio followed by Cardio Abs

Feeling good this morning...I think the weekend was a struggle for me as the past few crazy weeks finally caught up to me.  I am going to be very protective of my bedtime this week!

I did crapola today in terms of workouts, but spent time with my old parents, hung out with a superpiglet my sister thinks I might marry (but he smokes--dealbreaker--so, so, so sad), and bought SIXTEEN BOXES OF POP TARTS

after sixteen boxes of pop tarts you better do more than an hour...

I did an hour spin class this morning and a 4.1 mile run around the lake afterwards.  (no pop tarts)

Last night:  6 miles:  first 3 1/2, running steady, next mile, run some, walk a little, Galloway style, last 1 1/2 mile, walk.  Total "running", 4.5 miles; total distance covered, 6 miles.  My asthma got me at about mile 4.  Really p!$$es me off too!  I've been going to doctors, getting tested and treated for about 2 years, and I'm not all that much further ahead than I was 2 years ago!  Yell

This morning:  Stretching and ST. 

Tonight:  God willing, short run.

I just saw a physical therapist (a runner!) for my (right) rotator cuff injury.  A month of PT; no swimming, pushups, planks, cycling or presses.  For ST, only curls, core and lower.  For cardio, only running.  I guess this is a chance to "get my running s**t together".

First run after a few weeks off.  Went 5.9 miles in 1:09:50.  I was still feeling good about 3 hours later so I went for a bike ride.  11 miles in 53 minutes.

8 laps plus 2 sets of stairs for one mile total in 21:38

I did lots of hard running it was very tiring, the stairs was relaxing and cold because of the ice rink.

One mile with Mattie, 8 laps plus 2 sets of stairs in 21:39. Mattie set a good pace today with a good mix of running and walking. The stairs were a bit cold because of the ice rink.

Had planned on doing a short run but when i went to drop my daughter off at summer camp they had no power and were closed , Thanks Irene, so i played hide and seek and watched Shark boy and Lava girl....does that count as a workout ???  will try again tonite when wife gets home from work !!!

I am on stress overload today. I slept maybe 3 hours last night, taught class all morning, "strategic planning task force" meeting from 5 - 8 p.m. (with advising student newspaper thrown in between 6 and 7 p.m.) Oh, and I'm giving the chapel talk Wednesday morning, that I have very little concrete done on. I am about ready to blow up.

And it's only Monday . . .

Swam 600m at lunch. I'm hoping to get a run in this afternoon, but I'll have to skip out of work early to do it. I think I can make the math work out since I'll be here for three hours this evening. (I sure hope we get some dinner!)

Happy Monday, indeed. Undecided

Glad to hear from you Mattie -- you had a great workout.

50 miles on the bike this morning.  Great ride & starting to be really comfortable at this distance.  Had about an hour and a half recovery with lunch & then hit the pool for 4,700M of swim.  Started really feeling the fatigue toward the end but pushed through the workout.  Will do a 6 mile easy run around dark when the temp get under a hundred.

Relaxing today after yesterday's ride. I got lost and ended up being a half hour late and about 7 miles over plan. It's all good. Start again with more fun tomorrow.

Enjoy the week and I hope everyone stayed safe during Irene.
