We were lucky enough to catch 3 stages.  Anyone else go?

We've been discussing this over in the Colorado forum. I was on the course Sunday. So exciting! This really was a great event - I think it surpassed most expectations.

I DVR'ed and watched every stage at night when I got home from work.  Made me miss being home in Colorado. The Mrs. had to stop watching after the prologue because it made her homesick.

Oops sorry I didn't know there was a CO thread.  We saw the TT, Monarch Pass, Independence Pass.  The crowds on Indenpendence Pass were huge.  We drove to the top and back down about half way before finding a parking spot.  The crowds on IP had been there camping for days.  It rivaled crowds you see in the TdF.  While we were out there they announced that they already have the funding for the race next year.  I saw on FB today where they had a pole for voting for the towns they come through next year.  We will be back next year.

I think next year is going to be even better. I would expect a stage in Boulder and who knows where else. I did see that the final stage will always be in Denver (yeah!!!). The feedback I've seen from the riders is that they had a great time and were very impressed with the crowds and event overall.

That's what I heard too.  They also said due to the huge success they can pretty much pick whatever route they want next year.  I was able to make it to the prologue in COS, the finish in Steamboat, the start in steamboat, KOM at Swan Mtn and the finish in Denver.  Being 5 feet from Andy Shlek as he climbed up Swan Mtn with crazy people running all around him and a huge smile on on his face and with Basso chasing 10" behind was the higlight for me.

Here is the best pic we got - really by accident. They came by so fast my wife just was sort of clicking. Here is Levi on the final stage nicely protected by his team.

I managed to get some video down at Bannock & Speer in Denver.  I had so much fun watching that I think next year I'm going to take the week off and follow the race around the state.  I better not mention it here at work though because my colleague that I have to share coverage with is also a fan.  Hoping to snake in the time when he doesn't realize what the week is.
