I am stuck traveling today and won't get to bed until around 2:00am. The race is in the morning at 7:00am! I am not backing out at this point, but dang, it's going to be tough with that little sleep, don't you think?

It's my first race and I'm really excited. I figure I wasn't going to be able to sleep much anyway.

Any advice?

Did my first tri last weekend. I was so hyped up, my lack of sleep and 2 hour drive at 3:30 in the morning had no effect on me. You'll do fine. Just stay hydrated and have a snack tonight so you aren't running on empty.

Have fun tomorrow.

You will surprised...I actually prefer to have been up for a while before a race...I have more energy than if I wake up say 2 hours prior. At least for sprints.

I always have a hard time sleeping before a race. I wake up every hour to see if I'm late or thinking about race strategy/what I forgot. But, I don't think it's effected my race. The advice I keep hearing is that two nights before the race is the night for a lot of sleep. Enjoy your race.

You doing the publix family fitness race?? it's true they do say 2 nights before a race is more important for sleep. As long as you are properly hydrated and fueled, you'll be fine. It's amazing what adrenaline will do for you!!! Good luck, have FUN and post your race report!
