When does everyone plan on arriving in Louisville? I'm driving up Wednesday night so I can spend time with my family in Cincinnati and then driving down to Louisville on Friday morning.  Will check in, drive the course and then relax.

I know this has probably been mentioned already, but what are some good spectator spots for the whole race? I need to give the wife some guidance.

My friend included these in an email we sent to our support crew and might be helpful...

Link One:  Does a good job outlining what and where spectators could do and go.

http://iamtri.com/group/ironman-louisville-2012/forum/topics/spectator-information

Link Two:  Is for the town of La Grange, which is located on the bike course loop.  Folks can see us at about mile 38 and 68 from this town and they have a festival going on.  There is also a shuttle from downtown Louisville to La Grange so you don't have to drive and look for parking.

http://discoverlagrange.org/special-events/ironman/

Link Three:  Is a short article about IML

http://ironman.com/events/ironman/louisville/lovin-louisville#axzz22Dvm9TuK

Link Four:  This link is actually for the World Championships in Kona but I thought it had some good and funny info for spectators.  I especially like that they call the athletes SPAM and talk about your athlete being a "little touchy"  because I think we all are right now.

I know that this might be a little premature but is anyone planning on signing up for 2013? I had to withdraw last week due to injury and just received an email from WTC saying that I have officially been removed from the start list. I thought I was OK with it but to be honest I’m pretty down about it. Here’s to next year!

After 2 consectutive years at this venue, I have been told (by the supreme power) that we will not be returning to Louisville next year.  Considering either an early IM (Los Cobos??) or late IM (Florida or Cozumel??) for 2013.

I will be begging the executive council to let me do it again in 2013. So hopefully I will be there. Sorry you had to withdraw Jhouse. I had to do the same thing last year. But I was 1 month out.

I'm sorry to hear that....jhouse, I"m always amazed I make it this far.  And by making it, I feel like I barely am this time!!!  Getting a massage tomorrow, soaking in epsom salts today. oy.  Minimal workouts this week too.

Sorry to hear.   Had to withdraw a month out from Lake Placid in 2010.  Stinks BIG TIME.  But this too shall pass.  Next year will be here sooner than later.

Do Cozumel. I did that race last year and it is an unbelieveable venue. The swim is gorgeous and the island is so supportive of the race. I would go back in a heartbeat to race there again.

Thanks for the advice sbradley!

Cozumel is def. on the to do list.  Although, since I live in NC, doing B2B as a late season full could be less stressful, less expensive and less challenging logistically for me.

We'll see.........

I'll be one of the 6 I think wearing a Team FeXY kit. Probably the last one.

I haven't decided if I"m putting my banana costume in run special needs. I really want to run through the chute in it, but don't want to have it thrown out if I don't.  When I saw the guy in LP wearing the crown, cape, and doing heel clicks, I had to out do him.

I love costumes - is this a full body banana? What/how/why? I love it no matter what your responses are

I loved looking for Lisa(Glenda the Good Witch) at IMKS 70.3 in her costume. I always appreciate a good costume. I think to many people forget to have fun at these races. Costumes are a great reminder to enjoy the day an that We are there to have fun.
