Ok, I need some help. I have finished my 30 min TT tests for the bike and run. However, there is quite a bit of difference between the two. Both were done just as Mike Ricci's thread instructed. My run LTHR is 174 and my bike LTHR is 163. Is this typical or did I do something wrong? My run my have been a bit harder of an effort but I felt like I gave them both my all. Any advice?
that difference is actually almost "textbook" As a rule of thumb, bike LTHR is 10 beats lower than your run LTHR.
However, mine is different and illustrates the "as a rule of thumb" statement.
My bike LTHR is 150 and my run LTHR is 174.
As long as you really were "honest" during your perceived effort with Coach Ricci's test protocal, your results will be extremely accurate when compared to a blood lactate test. and i stress "honest"
Hey thanks for the info. I'm not sure what you mean by "honest". All I know is I gave it all I had for the time allotted and took my average HR from the trusty monitor. Thanks again and I guess I'm off on my base training.
