Does anyone have any recommendations for accommodations for the Kona Ironman 70.3 in June? I took a look at the Fairmont Orchid and the prices were through the roof!
As mentioned above, condo is usually the cheapest. I stayed at Hapuna this year because a friend of mine that I train with...his wife works for Hawaii Prince...so we got a good deal.
Hapuna is great because it's at the swim start. You get up early, get body marked, last minute transition set up, then walk back to your room and relax (use the bathroom) till the start of the race.
Look for a condo in Waikoloa Village. There are a bunch near the King's Shops that are reasonably priced and really nice. Easy to get to the swim start, etc.
