Subject: New Orleans Area Tris 2006

Planned on Sept 10th to be my first tri. Hurricane Katrina had other plans, SO I am looking at 2006 tris to be my first.

Has anyone heard if the New Orleans area tris have been cancelled or if they are still pending? I was thinking maybe the Abitaman series for next year, with my first one in March. Anyone hear anything about this series?

I'm betting that it will mainly be a matter of Lake Ponch being clean enough to swim in.  I would think it is full of stuff that is not good for us. ... . but then again it may be clean by next year?

Just me, but I don't think I'll be swimming in the lake next year.  Just the idea of what got deposited in there...yuck!  Maybe they'll have the smaller sprints like Abitaman 1 and Girlpower at the UNO pool.

I saw the Crawfish Man is on for May 7th. To bad its the week before half iron in Panama city. Did that race in 2003 and it was fun.
