 6 |  Subject: Hello from Philadelphia, PAHi all, I have just discovered this site and it has inspired me to start working towards my goal of triathlons and eventually a marathon in a few years. I graduated college in May and am 22 years old. I was a basketball and softball player in college and after living in Mexico for 3 months am really looking forward to going after my first triathlon. I am aiming for my first olympic length one in May, or maybe try a short one first, not sure. Any suggestions? Anyone also have any suggestions for a good one for a beginner around the Philadelphia, PA area? If anyone has any tips, suggestions, pointers, experiences about starting out I would love some advice. Have a great afternoon! |

If your looking for an Olympic distance race, you may want to consider the Philly Tri. Last year was the inaugural race and was a great success. I think registration opens on November first for next year's race. It will probably close pretty quickly. The Devilman Half and Sprint are in the Pine Barrens in early May. The Pine Barrens Sprint is a few weeks later in May. Also, as the season gets nearer, Active.com will list most of the races in the area. There are plenty of Philly folks on this site. | Member 391 Wenonah, NJ | Subject: another good race site trifind.com is another good race site. They have everything segregated by state. A lot of the 2006 races haven't posted yet but if you scroll down past the remainder of the 2005 races you will find what is already up for '06. Good luck |
