I have had my fair share of it... Thankfully, we gave most of it to the kids, and it is almost gone now.

We (literally) have a wagon full. My theory is that if i eat it all this first week, it won't be around to tempt me.

I teach high school (television production class) we watch a movie, this year John Carpenter's "The Thing" and I give away peanut butter cups. They are by far my favorite candy and it is the only time of the year I will allow myself to indulge or else I would weight 20 lbs more than I do now.

Same here. On of the kids I coach is allergic to chocolate and he gave me all his Twix (my favorite). Since then it has been Twix after Twix in a delicious attempt to get rid of it so it won't be around calling me any more. Of course here at work people have brought in all their extra and there are boxes full of goodness laying around.

Just spend more time outdoors running biking swimming, riding a unicycle, etc. Don't put the candy "out" in a jar or a bowl. Put it up and away so you're not tempted to grab a piece every time you walk by.

My roommates havent been helping with the 'betes situation this week, theyve all got tons of candy and cookies from their families. But at least Superfuzz sent me sugar free chocolates from the best candy place on earth...Anderson's Candy in Baden, PA.

thank you guys, I needed that!  And I'm glad I'm not the only one with a theory that says I should eat it all so I can get rid of it sooner....

i was pretty good, but i did steal the peanut butter cups from the girls bags (they needed thinning out anyway - a 2 year really shouldn't have that much candy!). we didn't buy any candy this year until the last minute. i made bookmark kits with stickers and sticks, but then got some endangered species chocolates on saturday to add to the cauldren. i had one or two of those, and then the peanut butter cups. not having it in the house really helped.

I took all my leftovers to work.

We live in a big neighborhood and had 156 trick-or-treaters.  The little kids and kids with good costumes got candy.  The high school kids and kids wearing stupid stuff (T-shirt & jeans) got Carb-Boom.    I can't eat Carb-Boom gels and had about 20 packets of them.  Great way to get rid of most of them.

Hahaha, I should have gone trick-or-treating at your place. i've been trying to find a cheap case of gels to use while training.

Well, I put my candy on the "honor system" after 8:00 so I could go to the gym.

Um, yeah, leftovers were not a problem.

Until I went to the store yesterday - pb cups 75% off because they're in orange foil? Score.

After my marathon on Sunday I had a big piece of my son's leftover birthday cake.  Halloween came and I promptly ate all of the peanut butter cups my kids collected (they don't like them) and a few Snickers and Kit-Kat bars.  I will try to make this my first non-candy day since Haloween.

Me too. Especially those in cutie little mini size. Psychologically I gave myself a free pass to have one of each kind. Basically, I have been eating 1 full size candy bar a day.

My wife bought WAY TOO MUCH candy and sugar is my downfall. I have been begging for the candy to go somewhere else. I have to laugh at all of us going after the PB cups (may fav also). I like Bear's idea - if I eat it this week it won't be there next! Problem is I've picked up the 2 pounds I whittled off over the last moth .

OK. I will be the person you all hate. Haven't had any halloween candy to speak of. Was tempted but held up. I would have to walk to another building to get and that just takes too much time.

Please. Between what we had leftover at home, plus what's piled all around in heaps here at work, including the extra stash of Butterfingers my secretary keeps BEHIND her desk, to the usual stash of dark chocolate which I visit EVERY day in one collegue's office... it's a miracle I can still waddle.

Almond Joy and Mounds are not safe around me. I have probably consumed my weight in these DEE-LISHUS treats over the past week. And now holiday food lurks.

I'll join you.  I haven't had any either, but that's because I don't have kids and I live out in the boonies where there are no trick o' treaters.

BUT, I LOVE chocolate and usually have some kind of candy around the house.  I just need a little bit of something after a meal.  And I mean little.  One Hershey Kiss will do the trick.  My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts because I will buy a Snickers bar and cut it into 4 pieces so that it lasts me 4 days.  By doing the all things in moderation routine, I eat candy almost every day and do not gain any weight.    I know, I'm sick.  LOL!

Yup, over did it on the candy this week - peanutbutter cups of course. it rained here so we got ZERO trick or treaters. In an effort to rid myself of the tempation I emailed friends and got addresses to send it all to soldiers in Iraq. Figure it's a reminder of home and also they can pass it out to children on patrols. Told some local friends and I now have literally 60+ pounds of candy in the garage - figure if I have to go out in the garage I won't be tempted to eat any in the middle of the night after nursing baby. everything goes in the mail tomorrow so the temptation will be gone.
