I like to wear them for longer rides and want to wear them in an olympic distance tri, but they take forever to get off after the bike. Is there a brand that makes a quicker removal system glove?

Can't say that I've ever seen gloves that are what you would deem "quick-removing", but I have known a few folks to take their gloves off in the last few miles.

Admittedly, I've never worn them on the bike (for the same reasons as you), and even if I did I'm not sure I would trust my coordination to pull it off.

Sure you "like to wear them," but gloves really aren't necessary for a 25-mile ride. Leave 'em home.

Capt,
I don't know about a quick removal glove, but for my Olys or longer, I stuck them in my Bento box and put them on in the first mile or so. Then I took them off before getting to the dismount area with the help of my teeth. I didn't care if I took them off nice and neatly, I just needed them off. Takes a little coordination, but it's doable. And now that I have aerobars, I'll probably stick them on there.

It may not be good for them, but if I'm in a rush, I just pull them off inside out. Fast and easy,  no problem.  I've become a firm believer in wearing my gloves on all my training rides as when I hit the pavement in a crash this past September and got bad road rash on my elbow and hip, my hands came out of it unscathed.  I also find that for me, the gloves make even uneventful riding easier on the hands.

While I agree with Ken as to the safety factor of gloves (had a pretty good wreck on a training ride over the summer that involved a considerable amount of skin on my legs/knees and a chunk of skin out of left hand), but haven't brought myself to wear them during a race ... for me the PIA factor during both transitions in terms of time + effort outweigh the comfort and/or grip gain for 25 or so miles.

That being said, I felt like I forgot something running out of T1 each race I did this summer and it took me a mile or so to realize that it was that I wasn't wearing gloves.

Just my 2psi. (but not worth as much!)
