Go to a store that carries that brand. Try it on to make sure its comfortable. Then buy online. If not, make sure you can return the one online. I tried 3 brands before I found the one I liked.

Tri-suits have a bit more leeway than wetsuits. There's always the good ol' Return to Sender (unless it's a closeout I suppose).

buying something tri related is always a good idea. buying something tri related that's new is a better idea. buying something tri related, new, and online for a good price is the best damn idea i've heard of since the pilgrims and indians decided to sit down for thanksgiving dinner.

Let me just say this though since it's your first -

If you get it in, and you think it looks too small - try it on anyway.

If you try it on and you think it's too tight - keep it a few days and try it on a few more times, if you aren't used to skin tight spandex your initial reaction to yourself in this "get up" may not be the best. I know mine wasn't, but I kept it a little while before I returned it and I ended up realizing that that is the way it's supposed to fit.

Well your right I could always return it.  To bad i would be ordering it from the UK,  I'll have to look a little harder to find a store in the USA

I'm kind of used to spandex.  I have apair of running spandex, full leg, that don't even look like they fit my niece, but they fit me fine

I bought my first tri suit off the internet (From DeSoto with one of those awesome codes someone posted ...47 bucks was GREAT) and it fit me well. The sizing guidelines are always a good read.

I have never had a problem buying online but sizes do vary. My attitude is if you go to a tri store and try something on there, buy it there. I don't think it is fair to the merchant. Maybe you can get a better price if you bargain or tell them you are with a tri or running club.

Yeah, as long as you keep the same midset you do for your running shorts, you'll be okay.

Ordering online is great as long as you can return the item.

My mom works in one of those places where they add logo's to product and clothing for corporate events etc.

I was so stoked when I saw she had the Sugoi catalogues. Now I get all my tri/cycling/running stuff at cost (50% at least of retail) Althought the Sugoi tri clothing is really small for me. Nade for midgets I think. (no offense to our vertically chalenged BT members)
