Im starting a petition to outlaw head winds, they are nothing but a problem when on the bike and I don’t think any of us should have to deal with them. With everyone help i think we can get through to whoever is behind this sick joke towards cyclist. in no way does this petition have anything to do with the all mighty tail wind, a friend to all.

That'll suck for us bringing up the rear as the lead group makes the turn. Your tailwinds will become our headwinds!

I will join your petition for head winds in triathlon, but when it comes to road racing - i quite enjoy a good head wind. they bring the pack together and sort out the boys from the men. You can use it to your advantage if you have the right tactics.

Well, since I'm neither a boy nor a man, I'll sign your petition And add to it: hills that have an upside and then level out, with no downside. This is clearly a design flaw and needs to be eliminated.

I agree. Head winds are the great equalizers. Just remember that everyone has one not just you. If you are riding with a pack hand around the middle and just enjoy the ride.

A little Head wind isn't so bad, it can be enjoyable. But 35 mph wind with gusts to 45 is definitely outlawed! I could've taken that for 1-2 miles, but when it takes you 30 minutes pushing as hard as you can against the wind to go the 2 miles, it's exhausting.

Head winds are just the yin to the tail winds yang. It is all a great part of the circles of life. This is coming from someone that likes the winter, because it makes spring better. The bad and hard make the good and indifferent better.

No, the head wind is worse than the tail wind is good and here is why. The force due to drag goes up as the square of the relative velocity. This means that if you are riding 15 mph into a 15 mph wind, the force due to drag is 30^2 = 900. If you turn around and ride 25 mph with that 15 mph wind, the force due to drag is 10^2 = 100. These are rough figures, but the point is made. A head wind hurts you way more than a tail wind helps. Now, if you are 6'5" like me, you have more surface area for the wind to scrape across, so it hurts you even more.

In short, add my name to the petition!
