I went places I never knew existed yesterday. I was racing with the Collegiate A men on a 73 mile road race, after completing a particularly grueling 9.5 mile time trial a few hours earlier. I got dropped on a hill and fought to get back.....then got dropped on another hill......then fought to get back. Both times I considered quitting. The second time I was trying to catch the pack was on a hill. My legs hurt so bad they stopped hurting. Defiantly a new experience for me. I caught the pack, and finished pretty well (even though my calf cramped in the final sprint, I still think I might have made top 10). I won't know my result until Monday or so, but that doesn't matter. The point is that I had two perfectly good chances to quit the race, and I didn't. That's the kind of attitude I need to go to Nationals with.
