I get up at the last possible minute. De-gooberize my face and run out the door with sheet marks on my arms and cheeks.

It's working out OK.

It must kill you to be out without lipstick.

Alarm goes off at 4:45 am, in the pool by 5:30 am.  try to get to bed between 9-10, but it varies.  When I am working out heavy, I need to get close to 8 hours a night, or I just start to decompose.....

As Jason Bourne says......"Sleep is a weapon!"

Is lipstick part of the de-gooberizing process? 'Cause that's all you said you do...

I soooooooo need a 24 hour gym. I'm up at 4:45, but sadly, it isn't to workout. I need to get up that early enough so I can get myself all clean and purty in time to leave the house at 6:05 to walk to the train to ensure that I get to work by 7:30. I really would like to wake up earlier, but my gym is not open until 5:30, so that's not an option. I'd have no problem getting up at 4:00, squeezing in a quick workout, and then heading to work from the gym.

Oh, I fall asleep usually around 9 at my desk, on the couch, somewhere other than my bed. I sleep there for 90 minutes or so, get up, do some stuff, and turn in to bed by 12:15.

Would it be too cheeky of me to ask what takes an hour and 20 minutes? I'm good to go in, oh, 20 minutes tops, including shower and hair. I've always been curious about what higher maintenance females get up to.

Carrie,

I love the poem on your site. One of the things I found when researching my book about the First Nations' struggle with my family is that no one gets it ~ including me, and I never can.

My husband recruited among the Crow and Cheyenne Nations, and we were invited to an intimate warrior welcoming ceremony for a new Marine.

There were several old warriors there including one WWI vet. I couldn't understand why they had fought for the U.S., and my husband said that even though it's the U.S., it is their land and they are warriors to this day.

Very moving. We haven't a clue.

I wouldn't consider myself a higher maintenance female. I have long hair that for whatever reason takes forever and a day to blowdry. Easily 30-45 minutes. I'm not even styling it. I just blow dry it and wear it flat or pull it up in a bun. Add in cooking breakfast, packing lunch, makeup, and other morning activities, and it easily takes me well over an hour. If I bust my rear, I can do the whole thing in 45-50 minutes, but I like to take a leisurely pace.

Interesting to see other people's routines.

I get up around 5 am so I can relax with the Internet and my cat until around 6 am when I do something -- go running or go to the gym. A really good fun day for me is go running in AM, take bike on bus to work and then ride home. THat's a good day and I arrive home smiling. It's a 12 mile ride home.

If I don't sleep well, I find exercise is the only thing to get me sane and less grumpy. I do love sleep, but sometimes my thyroid condition interferes a little, if anything has interfered with my thyroid meds.

I think waking early and going to bed early keeps you young, as I've read that if you go to bed early, your body releases more growth hormone, but who knows. It does interfere with social life.
