Subject: RE: 2006 Races I have only been doing tris since Jordanelle, but I have done both Jordanelle and Ogden. I think you can't go wrong with any of the TriUtah events. They seem to do a good job of organizing the events and ensuring that they are safe.
Jordanelle had an out and back bike course that takes you up through Francis. The first 1/2 is pretty slow (uphill ), but then you fly back after turning around. (I broke 60mph on one hill! ) The run is part off road and part on. It's got some pretty good hill climbs, but is measured a but short (2.8 miles if I remember correctly. )
I enjoyed Ogden a bit more, but mostly because T2 and the finish line were at a park. It was very kid friendly, which helped the wife out a lot while waiting. The course was also a bit faster. The bike course is a bit longer than most (18 mi per loop ), but it is absolutely beautiful. The course rolls over the hills coming down to the lake. The run course is pretty flat and paved.
Both Jordanelle and Ogden do 2 loops of the bike and run sprint course for the Oly athletes. |
