Subject: How many DNF's?
Just out of curiousity, how many DNF's were there in the last Kona Ironman? I believe there is 1600 in the starting field. For fun, I will guess about 10% or 160. I honestly haven't seen this number for any IM tri's.

It looks like 54 folks out of 1743 that started, or just barely 3%. If you look at the results page of each race on IM live, the DNF's are listed at the end. Hope that helps.

Yeah, when I did Wisconsin in 2003 it was hot and humid and the DNF rate was 15%, the highest ever for an IMNA event. This year it was hot, humid, and windy, and the DNF rate was 19%. It doesn't surprise me that Hawaii had a low DNF rate; the competitors tend to be better, since they had to earn their spots or win the lottery and then compete a qualifying race, and supposedly this year had great conditions for Hawaii (not too hot, not too windy).
