I'm the first one up??? How strange is THAT???? And I didn't wake up next to Bob Edwards (from NPR) this morning -for the first time in 25 years! Just doing my part to start things off with a provocative comment...

My plans for the day:
running
Pilates class
upper body weights

Since we're between hockey sessions (for the kids), I might be able to join in the bike club's Monday night easy ride -but it's not part of the plan, and something else would have to go. We'll see....

Andrea

OK I'm up too. After a weekend of 2 long bike rides plus some mountain climbing, I'm back to my regular gym schedule. Also I need to buy a new watch...might as well get the "Triathlon" model!

Decent, but not great training weekend.

Saturday - Had to work, so no training.
Sunday - 28 mile bike ride.

Tonight I run 4 or 5 miles

Had a great weekend. Swam, ran and biked all in one day and all outside (except for the swim). This week is BRICK WEEK! Finally got my bike in working order and the weather is going to be in the 70s and 80s so no excuses. Plan 16-mile bike ride with 3-mile run today. Woo hoo! My tri is in less than 2 weeks. Can't wait.

Swam 3700 meters this am. Getting closer to race day and focusing on pacing myself on the swim. My highest volume will be this week, then I begin tapering. :-)

Tonight is grocery night and I usually use this as a rest day. Tomorrow is my anniversary (2 years!) so I might need to work in a run tonight somehow so I can skip the gym tomorrow.

1500 swim, 8 mile bike ride while doing errands. How come people always look at me funny when I walk through a store with my bike helmet? Is it because these people have never seen a bike? Maybe they're just jealous that we're in better shape...yeah, that's it!

Went on a 14-mile bike ride. It was the longest bike ride that I've ever done and it was wonderful! And it's so wonderful to ride on a trail that stretches from Wyoming to New Mexico. It just boggles my mind. Whew! It was great! Ovetta.

Long run day. Slow and easy, 7.5 km in 50 minutes. My legs are kind of beat up though, probably from weights yesterday too.

Swam 3100 meters at 5:30 this morning.  Did a little pool running at work and ran ~2 miles this evening.

Got up early and went to my killer aerobics class. Biked to work (9 miles round trip). I am finding it hard sometimes to get good biking "time" in, you know? I need to find time to get some good, long bikes in. Anyhow, then after work biked home and lifted weights and did my 475 crunches.

I deserved a rest day, but I swam. Of course, the only reason I swam was because it's a class at the community college and I don't want them to fail me!!

But no one could make me swim hard!! :-) I'm not even sure if I could put a measurement on it. But I was in the water for 40 minutes.

eh! Today was my first time wearing a swimming goggles. Imagine that! It felt weird at first and took me some time to get it adjusted. Then somone turned off the lights while I was swimming so I ended up swimming in the dark for a while. I was huffing an puffing after each lap. I wasn't really keeping count of my laps but I figure I did about 12 or so and I'm not even sure how long the pool is. My wife said she measured 30 feet. I'll take a measuring tape with me to the gym tomorrow and get an accurate measurement... just so I can know for sure how well I'm doing.

This morning I did 12 miles on the bike (first 6 miles into a head wind) Averaged about 19.2 mph.

Now I'll try to get a good night's sleep and go for a long run in the morning.

Good night!
