Good Morning all!
I am so jazzed about coming across this website in my pursuit of a training plan for a friend interested in Tri-ing. Now- I am the one with a tri in mind.

My ultimate fitness goal is to complete a 1/2 IM distance tri (at least). But for now- my goal is just to get back into shape- get back into running and completing a sprint tri in August. The same tri I was training for in 2002 - but was hindered by a shattered radial head (elbow) caused by mtn. biking. And the same tri I was training for in 2003 when I found out I was pregnant.

Flash forward to 2006; 65 lbs. heavier and not near the time to train (with an awesome 2 year old). I think a sprint tri is the perfect motivation and the perfect distance the amount of time I have to train.

I am a cyclist at heart- A swimmer from the past (swam on team in HS - 24 years ago but have the basics down tight). My biggest hurdle is the run. But I know I can do it- as I was training for a 1/2 marathon when I got pregnant and was up to a 9 mile run.

SO- I am looking so forward to getting tons of ideas here- sharing some of my own and working toward that seemingly unacheivable (due to circumstance) goal of tri-ing.

Suzi

Welcome to BT Suzi!  Sounds like you have a perfect background for triathlons.

I hope your elbow is 100% and training goes well.  Keep us posted!

Hi Suzi, welcome to BT. You'll find lots of people here with small children, it's entirely possible to train and take care of little ones

Welcome!!  Pushing a baby jogger adds an extra element to training specially if you can get the toddler to yell out, "Faster, faster!"  I do not have a small child so I have to borrow my young nephew to do this particular workout.
