1 or 2 tubes depending on how many i have, two tire levers, a CO2 and head for it, and a card with name/phone numbers. Fits in a tiny bag under the seat.

1 tube, 2 CO2 cartridges and head, a couple of self stick patches, 2 tire levers and a bike multitool. The bag is the smallest I could find and it is absolutely packed as full as it can go.

Hmm...

Tire tool or two, multi-tool, tube, self-stick patches, alcohol swabs, pair of gloves, cartridge and head.  Can barely zip it closed.

1 Tube

2 CO2 Cannisters

1 CO2 Applicator

2 Tire levers

1 Bike multi-tool.

+1 here.  Plus ID/DL, credit card, $20, cell phone.  All in a medium sized bag made by Topeak which also serves as a mount for my PDW Radbot 1000. I bring all of this for training rides, during a race nothing in addition to rsmoylan's list in the same bag w/o the Radbot. =)

That's it.  If I don't have pockets, I'll throw my phone and ID in there too.  I have a frame pump.

I rarely use a seat bag any more. Two tubes, tire levers, and a hex wrench set will do it for me, and I can carry that in jersey pockets along with gels and cell phone. The pump goes on the frame.

Whether is a seat bag, pocket, camelbak or tied around your waist like a belt, you should always carry a spare tube. Riding the MUT today I passed a MTBer pushing his bike with a flat, back tire. I stopped to see if I could help since I have a patch kit and several CO2 cartridges. Turns out he had a pinch flat and did not carry a spare tube, I was on my cross bike so that was no help. I suppose we could have tied the tube at the pinch but he said he was just going to walk it in. Could have been a lot worse had he been out on the MTB trails instead of the MUT.

Har...I don't even pretend to know how to fix anything. Enough local currency to get me and bike back home or to LBS in a taxi from the furthest point of my ride, driver's license (no one knows what Road ID is here), my health insurance card in case I crash, the key to my apt., and usually some chocolate Gu.

A tube, a CO2, two tire levers and a business card holder with ID, credit card, $20 bill, and a note in the lid with my emergency contact information.

Only use a seat bag when I train though, never when I race. Personal choice... If I flat in a race, I would lose enough time that I might just as well withdraw at that point. If I raced any longer distances, I probably would add the seat bag for races as well, but in sprints, no.

This is what I carry on the road with the addition of a little pack of self adhesive patches, and a park tire boot.

You don't want to know what is in my mountain biking backpack. Lets just say that with the exception of a catastrophic frame failure, I have never had to walk out. I'm so stubborn that I've even spent more time on trail side repairs than it would have taken to just walk out.

I was going to add tire boot to the list. I recently used the dollar bill trick on a cut tire and even with cutting my ride short I barely made it back. A mini pocket knife can also be handy.

Also a couple of one dollar bills and some change in case I have to hit a vending machine for a drink.

Road bike bag (tri season is over!):

2 CO2 cartridges and inflator.

1 tube. If ride is more than 50 miles I usually stick another one in my jersey

Tire levers

multi-tool

Credit card, money, phone.

In a snack-sized ziplock bag I also carry: Patches (never actually used on the road). Band-aids (started carrying after my friend gashed her knee this summer)

edit: for racing it's only the first three items. And I wear a RoadID all the time.
