Could kick Chuck Norris' Watched "First Blood" last night... alone. Apparently wifey doesn't have an appreciation for fine cinema.

Rambo: There wouldn't be no trouble except for that king **** cop! All I wanted was something to eat. But the man kept pushing Sir.

Trautman: Well you did some pushing on your own John.

Rambo: They drew first blood, not me.

Trautman: Look Johnny, let me come in and get you the hell out of there!

Rambo: They drew first blood...

Trautman: Rambo, are you still reading me? Company leader to Raven! Rambo! Acknowledge!

Then you knew it was on like Donkey Kong! Truly memorable moments from this 1982 classic. Thank you John Rambo. You are the reason I desired to become a one handed M60 gunner at the ripe young age of nine.

Rambo: I could have killed 'em all, I could kill you. In town you're the law, out here it's me. Don't push it. Don't push it or I'll give you a war you won't believe. Let it go. Let it go.

Brings tears to my eyes.

I could be wrong, but isn't the movie "First Blood " the birthplace of the term "cluster-f#ck"? I love that term when applied in just the right moment. Doesn't the head cop say that at some point?

Help me out Chucky. I'd ask my wife, but, well, she's watching "Bridges Over Madison County" right now.

I don't remember that being in First Blood. It may be in one of the sequels?

Hijack: I read the book. Blech!!! It was so bad, I threw the book away. I never throw-away books!

Sounds like the book didn't do the movie justice. Rambo never dies... He goes to hell and regroups.

Ah, what memories... and one of my favorite lines in cinema (if you can call it that).

"You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke."

I think it has the distinction of being the only book I've ever put in the garbage.

We were using that term late 60's - early 70's.  F words were dominant speech for most military lingo. The F word, it's a noun, pronoun, verb, adj., adv., direct object. Had a kid in my company from NY who holds a personal record for using the F word. I walk out one morning and he's got the hood of my jeep up. I ask him what seems to be the problem. His reply.. The f'in f won't f'in f.    It seemed so clear at the time.

I'm surprised you were watching that closely, what with getting your mack on/chair wrestling during the movie.
