Subject: Surprise indoor tri!

While shivvering in the cold waiting for the bus to take me to class, I noticed that the University Tri club was puting on an Indoor Triathlon. I was psyched! Bad news? It is tomorrow!

I may not be nearly as prepared as I'd like to be for my first "triathlon-ish" experience... but It should be a good time no matter what. Hopefully I'll come back w/ some good stories and a pic or two of me on my way to becoming a real triathlete.

sweetness!! The University tri club I just joined here in Belfast is having one next wednesday to spice up the training schedule a bit.

Do you go to Syracuse ? I've got a good mate there doing his PhD.

I didn't win any medals, but it was hella fun! I came in 9th out of 12 in my group. Not anything spectacular, but for mediocre training and only learning about the race a few days ahead of time, I was very happy. I also met a bunch of really cool people and was invited to go to Nationals in Nevada w/ them.

It sounds REALLY tempting, but being only a month and a half away, and costing about 500 dollars, I'm not sure if I'll be fast enough by then to justify the cost, even if the experience is going to be guaranteed to kick-ass. 

Pheonix: I'm a grad student at Syracuse for the next 3 months. If your mate is getting his PhD at Newhouse (the communications school) I might have run into him.

i'm not sure what school he's in, I believe he's doing his degree in Literature or something nerdy like that.
