Subject: CORE exercises to add

I really love this article and exercises demonstrated here:

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/cms/article-detail.asp?articleid=486

Thanks Marma-whosyour-daddy for posting these in another thread. I had never seen them.

Now the question, can you guys add the exercises on that link to the training logs? For example the knee up crunches and hip lifts. Those knee up crunches are SO MUCH harder than regular crunches. Thanks!

Thanks for posting.......that is great..I'm very visual so it doesn't get much better than that.

I use to take this killer ab class at lunch a few years ago.....all we did was stuff like that for 30 to 45 min... It was awesome!

Some of the exercises are already there, some might be but under different names. I'll figure out what needs to be added and post the list of exercise names here. I'm pretty jammed up for the next few days so it may take until sometime this weekend.

Some of them are there but listed with the FB (the ball?)

No hurry, thanks. I know that my crunches are the new knee ups I'm doing, thats why I'm doing less reps and sets, and thats all that matters.

FB is fitball (or at least it was when I asked for it ).

I do knee-up crunches, and I use the Flat Bench Knee Raise exercise to record them.

Oh well.

You know, now that I look at it I think you're right. I've never used the ball and had no idea that it's called a 'Fit Ball'. I just assumed that (for example) presses could be incline bench, decline bench, or Flat bench.

Ron's the strength dude here, we should ask him.

I have same problem as folks here. I recently began program outlined in "Core Essentials". Can use some names currently under ABS, Back & Core but not all. Examples might be lateral lunge or glute bridge.

Would it be possible to allow users to name exercises what ever they wish similar to the way you now allow any name to be assigned to a template? This would permit users to perform an endless variety of exercises with names they or their coach commonly use.

Thanks.

John, Ron posted the following a few days ago in another thread to the same request:

Starting end of this month and continuing through the year we will be re-defining all the exercise terms so they are the most accurate and widely used.  Also we will be adding an exercise 'how-to', pictures and audio/video to all exercises in the strength logger.  This will take awhile but I have somebody on the job for this and we plan to hopefully roll out 20 exercises with tutorials each month....we should end up with 200-300 including core stuff.  We will also add the ability to define your own exercises too.

i was so happy when i found that article a few months back.  the visuals are great.  I would be great when we have this under core, cause i just type in "I did BT Core"

FB=Flat Bench, who knew.  I thought it meant Fit Ball as well.

Ok, all exerices in the Around the World core routine are now in the exercise database. A couple of the names are slightly different from what's in the article. Below are the exercises and their group. Let me know if anything is unclear or doesn't look right.

I encourage everyone to check in on Comets training log occassionally to make sure she's actually doing these exercises.
