Very beginner question here...

What should my tire pressure be on my tri bike?
I don't see any indication on the tire, tube, or the box the tube came in.

I have 650c tubular wheels.

I've been pumping them to about 115psi.

Should be on the tires.  Did you look really well?  I know mine is on them, and it's still hard to find sometimes.

Usually the pressure is on the sides of the tires.

Darn it!  You're too quick!  I noticed that info. was included in the original post and I went back and edited.  Apparently I didn't edit quickly enough.  But my superpowers aren't ocmpletely gone with my hair- I was able to correct it so that counts for something right?

Duh... found it. You're right, it was hard to find.

Max Pressure 120psi. So I'll bump it up from 115 to 120.

Thanks,
SMG

huh?  How can you have a tubular wheel AND have a tire, tube and box the tube came in?

So I think her question was a valid one.

You don't have to run at max.  Depending on your frame, it may be more comfortable to run a slightly lower pressure, as the added flex absorbs more shock.

My tires are 95 - 115.  I train at 110 on the road, 115 on the trainer and race at 120.  The 120 is rought as hell, but I have yet to blow the tire out and it does make for a faster ride.

I'm about 190 so if the pressure is 110 I can see the rear tire flattening out some, for races and fast training I jack it up to 125, rough but fast!!

This might be a dumb question but that's never stopped me from asking.

Does the tire pressure change when riding? I'm not speaking about having a leak that would obviously reduce the pressure...I'm thinking about increased pressure from the tire revolution causing some heat build up.

Plausible or stupid

yea, it will go up as you ride, but not by a lot.  Depends on the tire, how hot the day is, how hot the pavement is, how inflated the tire is (more flex in the sidewall = more heat build up).

It's the reason why you set your trainer up a touch loose, so that once your wheel gets up to temp it's not too tight against the roller.
