I just received email from the folks at TriUtah about the course for the icebreaker:

Two weeks to go! Here are web links to the bike and run courses for the
InTraining Icebreaker Triathlon on 3/25.

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=61686 (Bike course)

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=61689(Run course)

We're working on the final details for the athlete packet PDF that will be
posted on the triutah.com website by Wednesday.

Keep training.

Chris and John

A few of us are planning on getting together to ride/run the course on Saturday the 18th. We'll meet at 9:00 AM at the American Fork Recreation Center parking lot. If you need to know where that is, check the maps at the links above. It's right next to the park at the bottom of both course maps.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

Good luck at this one. I'm afraid its still looking too cold for me.
But if anyone decides to go for a swim, let me know. I could use a change of routine. I hear its a 50 meter length. Anyone know how much a day pass is to swim at the AF pool?

I think the day pass is $4, but I'm not sure. I don't know if the markers will be on the 50M or 25yd course, though. They alternate, but I'm not sure when.

Day pass is actually $3.50, and they will have the 50M course roped on Saturday morning.

Rain or shine? Let's do it regardless. It's good to go in bad conditions. Great practice.

I'll be there as well as Brappleye3.  Will have a couple others joining us as well.

Hope it's not TOO cold.  Our gang is planning on doing all three events -- Swim, Bike, and Run, as close to race conditions as we can!

To confirm -- AF rec has advised that 3.50 is the day pass price and there will be at least 1 50 meter lane open for swimming.

This is going to be fun.  We need GROUP photo on Race Day to put on the Race report.  Who's going to get digital camera duty.  Need to show BT that Utah does have triathlons and Triathletes!

I'm planning on bringing the camera. My wife should be there to take a few pics, too.

I'm not concerned about the cold tomorrow, but I am concerned about rain/snow. I'd hate to see someone get hurt. But I think we should at least be able to swim/run, worst case.

I'm not going to be able to make it to the brick tomorrow fellas, sorry! I was really looking forward to meeting you all. I'm looking forward to running into you all there. We need to come up with some way to clue each other in to the fact that we are members of BT on race day. That way I will be able to find at least some of you guys, after I finish the race behind everyone else!

Oh, and my wife will have a digital camera there as well. She's half asian (Korean), so don't worry, she takes plenty of pictures!

Just look for me on race day. I know most of the others. And I'll be the only 6.8" bald guy there

Randy, brappleye3 and I are planning on being there not later than 7:30 am on Saturday.  Want to get some good real estate for our T-Zone -- Maybe we can watch for each other and try to get real estate in the same neighborhood!

Drew, I think you're the only one that hasn't met the group -- Watch for Dave -- you can't miss him!   (sorry Dave!)

Definately want to make sure we get finish photo's and a group photo of the BT gang!

Good Luck to everyone next Saturday!

I will have to leave immediately after finishing, so I won't be able to get a photo aftewards, but I'd love to try to get together beforehand. Perhaps we should set a time/place to meet. How about 8:00 in the rec center next to the track entrance?

Sounds good. I'll look out (and up) for Dave when I get there.

I don't know if I'll see you guys during the transitions though because I think that I'm going to get a terrible seed for the swim; I estimated 6 mins. for the swim. However, that was when I was swimming at that pace and hadn't learned how to swim at different speeds. I will go much faster than that I hope. Oh well, I guess it's not that big of a deal; at least this way I will probably pass quite a few people on the swim! See you all Saturday!

You'll be seeded in front of me -- I put 6:30 for the swim -- So maybe I'll catch up to you.

Be sure to be early for good real estate in the t-zone -- plus the gang is meeting at 8:00 for a BT TEAM UTAH photo op.  Just inside the rec center.

See you Saturday!

Sounds great, I'll make sure to get there early for the pic and for good real estate. You guys will have to show me what constitutes good realestate when I get there. Well, see you on Saturday.

This tri will actually have assigned racks based on bib number, according to the TriUtah folks. If possible, it's always best to get a spot near the rack stands so you have room for your bag next to the bike. Other than that, you don't get much choice.

The good news is that you enter one end of the transition and exit the other, so everyone has pretty close to the same distance to run through the transition area.

Everyone should go to this article and read it.   It'll help you with planning whats coming this weekend-- includeing what you need to bring  (Billy -- that means goggles!  )

It's a good checklist and some good advice -- See you all Saturday!

Getting Pumped tomorrow.  Should be lots of fun.  What time you going to the walkthrough?  Might be fun to do a little carbo loading with the gang?

I'm definately going to the walkthrough/packet pick up tonight.
