Subject: bike pedals?
The cycling shoes I ordered last week have come in. I bought some Louis Garneau Tri-air cycling shoes, they are tri specific and have one strap to contend with in transition, I can't wait to get on the road with them. I was looking at some Look pedals
A3.1's anyone have any experience with these or recommondations on other types in the 70-100 buck range?

As picky as it might seem, I would keep weight in mind. My bike shop owner originally showed me a nice firm, wide pedal. Advantage? About $100. Disadvantage. A bit heavy and you can only clip in on one side. I ended up with a slightly higher-priced Speedplay pedal. Advantage? Much lighter and I can clip in on either side. Good luck!

Yeah, its interesting that the look pedal I chose is about 90 bucks at 200 grams, they have one for 70 at 150 grams but made of some type of plastic. but on the other end of the spectrum as the weght goes down the price goes up. Thanks for the heads up on how the shoes clip in I didn't realize that some don't clip on both sides, I'll have check this out

I use Look for long runs but for transitions I would use a pedal that you can engage from either side.

I also recently changed to Speedplay pedals - very light, double sided and really easy entry but best of all, HUGE amounts of float because of the unique design and it really benefits my knees! Very small 'lollipop' design means low weight as well.

Love my speedplays...The "cheap" ones are about $100. There is a lighter more expensive version for $250. I couldnt tell the difference holding them in my hand.
