Anybody have a Timex HR monitor?  I have a 10mi run in the morning and all of the sudden my Timex HRM stopped working.  I replaced the battery, and still nothing.  The watch part works fine, but nothing is being transmitted to it...I think.  Any suggestions?

Wet between the chest monitor strap and your skin. It might not be picking up the signal. Better yet pick up a tube of water soluble electrolyte gel at a medical supply store. The kind they use for EKGs and the likes. Since I've started using a dab of that underneath the chest strap I have no problems. I used to get terribly inconsistent readings without it.

I always make sure the sensor is wet.  I don't see why all of the sudden after about a year I would have to start using an electrlyte gel.

Find someone with a Tmx HR and check their strap too see if the watch is recieving anything. Then check your strap to thier watch. Also you may have gotten the signal Frequency off that of the watch check the manual to see if there is a way to make sure the strap and watch are the same signal.

Ah, had it a year . . . that makes a difference. I do know if it's been just under a year your warranty is still good and Timex is great about taking care of replacements.

I have a Timex Body Link HRM.  The chest strap is breaking where the straps enter the electronics part.  Called Timex and they said they would replace it even though it's been over a year since I replaced it.  So, I think Timex will replace the chest strap for.

Sorry, this doesn't help your current situation.

Are the batteries installed correctly Laughing
