Hi there,

For those who have finished the Honu 70.3 (or those who have an opinion)…would you recommend that race as a decent first HIM?  Granted, I have a lot of time to think about it, but any input would be appreciated.

Not til 2009. I won't arrive in HI until Jun 8th so I'll start the 'local' races after that. It's a great course if you enjoy that fun little section to Hawi

Good luck Lardog and the other BTers!

I'm in!  First HIM for me as well. I'm a Hilo boy, but I get over to the west side once in a while.  Hawi isn't too bad if the wind's not cranking...but don't count on that.

 See you guys there-

 Mike

Yes,
I am all signed up and ready for the Honu. I will also be doing the Lavaman on Apr. 6 in kona and the Kona marathon. I just wish the damm rain would stop here in Volcano, very frustrating. Maybe we can go for a bike ride someday, I'm always looking for someone to ride with.

I wish I could do the lavaman as well, but it just didn't work out.  I'll be doing the Kona Marathon again, nice course.  There are a couple of us that ride once or twice a week together.  We usually start in Paradise park, but can arrange to meet elsewhere if you'd like.  We'll probably do a ride this Wednesday, let me know.  Good luck at lavaman!

I work from 10 pm to 6 am, as long as I can get in a few hrs sleep in the morning I'm good. I usually start my rides and runs around 11 or 12. My days off are Sunday and Monday, so Monday and Tuesday I can start anytime.
