I sure hope so.  Right now I am at the local minimum of that blue curve (26)

The upwards curve on the blue line should be steeper.  I've far surpassed my non-nerd friends at 37...

Of course around 16-18ish the blue line should technically dip below the x axis...

I wish I was more of a nerd because at 40, the future doesn't look any more satisfiying.

As a proud nerd, I believe that blue line overtakes the red line much earlier...anywhere from mid-twenties to late twenties.  About the only range red has an advantage is in the awkward teen years.  Just my 2 cents.

Blue line needs to go down much steeper, kiss the x axis at 15, and head up steeply until 40 at which it approaches the limit/maximum satisfaction level.

YAY!!! Another nerd thread! We haven't had one in a while.

Don't forget that the seemingly non-nerd "I am it" people are usually pretty miserable in their teens, too. It's a lot of pressure to try to stay at the top of a very slippery heap.

The curve is surprisingly true for me, albeit with a few more wide/steep oscillations until age 26. There have been some more since then, obviously, but both the first and second derivatives are positive.

Totally true. I remember looking forward to adulthood when I was a kid, and I'm not dissatisfied. I wish I hadn't had such a rough road getting here, but perhaps that's what lets me appreciate it.

Having an issue with the chart as my college years were fun (at least what I remember of them).  With a major in Computer science and a minor in Business Administration I fell in with the nerd crowd but did manage to party quite a bit (actually probably too much).  So put a spike during the college years on the blue line and I will agree.

I would have to agree- I'm halfway through my college years and the further I go in engineering the better it gets. I think it has something to do with the direct correlation between the later at night you're up doing homework, the funnier everything gets...

This one gets me every time :D

Like! I'm a science nerd, even in 6th grade my teacher told me she thought I was going to be a scientist when I grew up. She was half right, not sure about the growing up part

Like a fine wine, getting better with age. Never mind the sediment...
