I just bought an entry level tri bike for IMAZ 2012, but still need a set of 700c wheels.

Does anyone have a basic set for training (perhaps after upgrading from basic stock wheels)?

Again, I am looking for something inexpensive just to get me by the next few months until I invest further.

Thanks in advance!

Look at the Vuelta Corsa Lite wheels. I have them and I really like them. They're really light and they have been rock solid for me. I got them from MODERN BIKE. They're about $300 shipped and they weigh about 1600 grams for the set.

You can find similar wheels to this on eBay for about the same $$ as Modern Bike, so you should have many choices and options.

Thanks for the suggestions.

If I don't find anything "gently used" in the next few days, I might just go with a pair of Neuvations.

Thanks again,

I highly recommend Neuvations. They are great wheels. I have a set on my flat bar commuting bike. THat being said, I have a pair of Mavic Aksiums with an Ultegra 12-25 cassette and two newer (

New Price: Wheels = $200, Tubes = 15, $Tires = $100, Cassette = $75, Total = $390.

I'll sell 'em for half that >> $195. And I'll throw in a brand new never-mounted Hutchinson Equinox training/winter tire.

If you are interested, PM me and I'll send you some detail photographs. Or, I'm up in Fountain Hills, bring your bike up and we'll mount them on your bike and and go for a ride.
