Some of you BTers must live in the Triathlon Mecca of San Diego... While we will be family sight seeing by day, I can get a couple of morning run's in and if you have any suggestions where, I'd like to hear it.

Either go to La Jolla and run by the cliffs or go across the Coronado bridge and run the strand where the Navy SEALS train........it's simply perfect!!!

Where will you be staying??  My family has a house along the bay and so we sometimes do a "Bridges" run/bike/skate  Its around 5mi along the boardwalk around the bay and up over the bridges on Ingraham and Mission Bay Blvd back to the boardwalk.

I've done that a loop before.  The Sail Bay section in particular is nice.  Most of it is on concrete paths or sidewalks IIRC.

However you have to add the beach.  You can park say down at the south end near Mission Beach, or a little further north near the amusement park.  From the amusement park you can easily cut over to the Sail Bay loop and do an out-and-back, then hit the ocean beach for a run north say to the pier, or to Palisades Park then cut up the hill to run La Jolla Blvd, then run back south.  I've gone as far as 15 miles with this route depending if I do a full loop around on the map above and how far I go into La Jolla.

When I lived in San Diego, I ran in Balboa Park. It's pretty and it was near my workplace so I could run at lunch. Your family could go there to see the sights while you run around and then join them.

We are at the wyndam (sea world) just off sports arena blvd/midway drive, I'm liking the look of that run around the mission bay.

I might go take a drive now to see if I can run along mission bay drive to get over freeway 8 and the water, I hate to drive there, i'd rather spend the time running.

Well my best HM is 1:38 and I was not looking to hurt that much so maybe it was best to not try and join you!

The route around the bay and a little extra up the sea front mad for a nice 6miler.
Something similar tomorrow also me thinks.
