I did this race last year. The swim was 1/3 mile (which was the longest distance I had done at that time), and was calm because it is in this little pond/lake that is very sheltered. You pretty much swim the length of the pond so spectators are lining the beach the whole way cheering you on. Kind of cool. The bike was kind of hilly but nothing too bad that stuck out in my head. The run.....there is a huge hill right at the beginning - I think it is the first mile you are running up the hill and it is pretty steep! Many people walking this or alternating between running and walking. The one good thing - you also get to run down it, but only for 1/4 mile to the finish. Not much in terms of swag or atmosphere but it a storm was quickly approaching. It was a nice race but the hill was tough. That said, I would do it again.
