Are there standard IM cut off times for each of the three events in an IM. If so, what are they?
Thanks

This is from the FAQs on the Ironman CDA website, I would assume it's standard?

What are the cut-off times? Swim: 2h20, Swim/Bike: 10h30m, Swim/Bike/Run 17hrs

Yup. To be an "official" finisher you need to break 17 hours and survive the other two cut-offs without getting yanked.

But if you try tell the guy/gal who finishes in over 17+ hours that they are not an Ironman, prepare to have your azz kicked by everyone around .....

The first two cut-offs are not optional, though. If you miss those, they're not going to let you out on the course for the next leg. Once you make it out on the run, though, there's no way for them to stop you. And if you come across the line over 17 hours, you may not get the medal or be listed in the official results, but there's likely to still be people there cheering for you.
