Subject: NYC training buddy?
Hi! Anyone looking for a training buddy in the NYC area? I'm training for a half-ironman in June, and am looking for a motivational partner, even if you're training for a shorter distance! If we don't live too close, maybe we could plan long training runs/rides/swims on the weekends? I've been to a couple NYRR group runs. I've never tried NYCC, anyone else?

Hi there,

I'm not nearly at your level, at all- I recently had a baby and am really coming back from zero, and I haven't even accomplished a sprint yet (it was on the agenda until i got pregnant). I have run some NYRR races, just did the half marathon this sunday. I live in QUeens. All that said, I've observed how nice it must be to have training buddies and while I wouldn't be the best pacing partner yet I would certainly love to keep in touch and see if as I progress we could train together. Let me know!

Friend of mine is a big NYCC fan and rides with them every weekend - the SIGs are probably something you would want to look at.  Only reason I'm not signing up is I'll be out of the country for too many weeks over the next couple of months.

I'm training for the NYC Tri plus a couple sprints - where in the city are you?

Tho' I'm currently not running / cycling due to knee problems and am waiting on verdict of what I've managed to do this time.  Fingers crossed it's superficial.

Hey! Do you have a road bike? As it gets nicer we could meet up in the park to try out a run or bike together?

Hi everyone- as I get my training schedule down pat, I'd partner up for some workouts. I've been swimming with Red Tide for the past three weeks and it's been great. The coaches and other swimmers are really nice, and there are a ton of workouts. So that's one option if you're looking for some swimming buddies.

I usually run on my own, but would also like some cycling partners. I'm thinking about joining NYCC too- I've heard good things. I'd be doing the Tuesday/Thursday 5:45 AM ride in Central Park and a Sunday morning ride at their "B" level.

Feel free to message me for more info- I will let you know if I join NYCC. They have a class coming up next Tuesday that I'll go to if I join in time: http://nycc.org/node/55680

I was planning to do a ride around 10:00am on sunday - likely 4-5 loops of the park given the questionable weather.  Message me if you want to join
