Subject: Rear Derailleur Hanger: HELP

Hey BT,

So I ride a HED Aerolab V04, and during a training ride, my RD hanger snapped. I've contacted HED, and Wheels Mfg. Both of them referred me back to the other, so my day went in circles. I've also contacted every shop who still carries the NOS frames (R&A Cycles in NY) but no one seems to have a hanger that will fit. If you happen to know where I can get one, have one yourself, or know someone who might be able to help, I'd greatly appreciate any leads you have. Nothing I've found so far has come close...its a very picky hanger apparently.

You might find a machine shop to duplicate the one you have. I've never heard of HED frames, so it's unlikely your shop can get one either.

Or contact HED directly to see what can happen. Never mind...

Good luck. I have a cross bike with an integrated hanger and I rue the day I bend that.

Find a machine shop and take what you have and ask what they can do. Ask your LBS if they know somebody that can help. You might also try the forums over on fairwheelbikes, there are a lot of fabricators over there that *could* help possibly.
