Swimming in Toronto

Depends on where you are downtown and what you're looking for but there's several options:

- U of T

- Ryerson - they even have a masters group that I was initially in contact with - they apparently have mostly triathletes swim with them on Monday/Wednesdays and Saturdays

- The Y on Grosvenor - i haven't ever been but hear its a nice facility

- I looked into a couple of other gyms - some of the swankiers seem to have pools but i've never been as well - i think it was The Adelaide Club had a pool (since I tend to swim closer to home in the west end and i've joined a group that's run from a high school pool).

How far west are you, if you don't mind me asking? I'm in the King/Queen West area but not as far west as Liberty Village.

The City of Toronto has a number of indoor pools scattered around.  You can check out their website for one close by.  Most offer an adult lane swim in the morning, at noon and some evenings.  Trinity Belwoods and Scadding Court are close to your hood.  There's the St. Lawrence Market pool right downtown.

I'm thinking of giving Trinity Bellwoods a shot but to be honest I've been spoiled with swimming at Douglas Snow with their long course pool. I'm also going to try to look into the masters program at Ryerson but I'm not sure if I will be able to make the commitment. Between Scadding and Trinity Bellwoods, which pool did you think was better?

I started doing Sprints last year and fell in love with the sport. I'm hoping to do my first Oly this summer but definitely need to get more swimming in before I commit to that. What about you?

I've been checking out Scadding's schedule and it looks like it's quite limited. Only about 50 mins in the evenings and no morning swim.

Trinity has better availability - I hope it won't be too busy.

Do you know how big either of these pools are?
