I can't get my seat angle correct since I have a seatpost which is offset to the rear.  I'm looking to purchase a new seatpost, but not sure which to get: a 0 degree or a forward.

My goal is to get my Adamo saddle to be near the magic 80 degree seat angle.  I need to get the front of the saddle forward about 8 cm.  Since I can get a 0 degree relatively cheap (since a ton of models are available) I want to go with that.  But I also see one forward facing model from profile design, which is more expensive.

Just curious if the 0 degree will get me those 8 cms or do I have to go with the Profile Design Fast Forward?

(And on a side note, when reading the PD Fast Forward reviews here on BT, I noticed that someone commented how you can't adjust the tilt of the saddle.  Anyone know if that is still true, cause that would be a major bummer?)

A lot depends upon how much setback your current seatpost has, what your ST angle is, and where your current saddle sits on the rails.  That said, 8cm is a lot - chances are, you'll need some sort of forward post.

In addition to the profile offering, take a look at a Thompson layback post.  You can easily reverse the head on these, and use them as a forward post.  Plus, the two-bolt head design will allow infinite adjustment.

Where are you now?

What kind of bike do you have? Road?

Do you have photos and measurements of your fit?

Can you measure your rails and see if at 0 you can get 8 cm with 0 seatpost. Are you all the way forward on your rails?

Moving up 8cm (over 3 inches) seems like a lot and moving forward will change the handling of the bike.

Check out the third to the last paragraph in this article  http://www.slowtwitch.com/Products/Saddles/Saddle_Theory_Part_III_2512.html

I think the basic idea is that you only have to get to 77 with your Adamo, which will hopefully make things a little easier.

Right now, I am at 70 degrees.  I have a kestrel road bike.  I have a video of my latest fit here:

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=437365&posts=8&start=1

My seat height is 75 cm.

I have a pic of my rails showing that I am as far up as possible with my current seat post here:

If I can get nearer to 80, like even 77 as someone suggested, that would be great.  Thanks for any advice you can give.

Double check that.  Most road bike STs are in the 73-75 range  It may be that you don't need to get as far forward as you thought to hit the angle of your dreams...

I took a look at the pics and videos of the seat and your fit. The seatpost has a 1.5 to 2.0 mm setback. The video shows you are getting close to having your knees hit your elbows, so there is not a lot of room to move forward without also considering a longer stem.  It does not look like the present seatpost is reversible. The video shows the leg could extend a little more. The nose on the seat is tilted down too far, so you could end up sliding forward. Strive for nearly horizontal and it will improve the leg extension and knee to elbow clearance simultaneously.

As far as seatposts go, I have used a Profile forward, a Thompson Elite revesible, and a Bontrager reversible. The Profile offers the greatest forward distance, 4-6 cm. The Thompson and Bontrager offer 2 cm forward. The Thompson is the lightest. The Bontrager has a side bolt for easy position changes without removing the seat bag. I've enjoyed them equally.
