Subject: Speed Concept on a Cycle Ops Fluid 2

Good day folks,

Well the early birthday gift came yesterday. I finnaly got my SC 7.0. I can't wait to take it on my first ride. I will post a pictures of it later on this week or so.

So when I got home yesterday, I wanted to put the SC on my trainer. However the skewer on the bike is a little different than the one the trainer use. Am I to replace the bike skewer with the one that came with the trainer? If not, how do you mount the SC on the Fluid?

Thanks

You want to use a steel skewer on a trainer that clamps on the skewer. Generally those come with the trainers.

You can also use that skewer on the road, it's a touch heavier is all. Even the weight weenies say not to get wrapped around the proverbial axle about using a steel skewer outside.

You should use the skewer that cam with the trainer.  I change mine back when I ride outdoors, but I also change from a trainer tire to a road tire.

For the SC on a trainer, also look at putting a couple of rubber washers where the trainer meets the drop outs.  Some people complained that certain trainers scratched/dug into their frames.

This. my SC has a spot that is missing some paint from use on a Fluid 2. Put a couple washers on the non drive side between the quick release and the frame.
